Parque Rachel de Queiroz

Fortaleza is constructing the Rachel de Quieroz Park across 14 districts of the city. The population density in these districts is high and the environment is often degraded. The park will change the landscape of the city, providing a landmark green space for leisure and relaxation. The project involves urbanization, landscaping and forest recovery, renaturalization of water resources and implementation of natural mechanisms of bioremediation, resettlement of families at risk area, and improvements to the road system. The park will improve urban mobility by encouraging walking and cycling and increase the number of cultural activities available to citizens.
