The project aims to improve the existing waste management system in the city by ensuring efficient collection, segregation, transportation and disposal of waste. It aims to eliminate manual handling of waste as far as possible, ensuring maximum recovery of resources by segregating recyclables and biodegradables and creating a fully automatic centralized sold waste treatment facility. The city will also implement door to door collection services along with street sweeping programs and the collection of waste from markets. Resources will be recovered from waste through bio-methanation and electricity generation.
